It feels better than not – and reduces the distance in all ways between people. We are herd animals.
Touching, hugging, hand shaking, kissing and other examples of tactile human contact, all express warmth, trust, affection and an endless variety of positive emotions, more than words could ever do. We need touch to be and feel alive. Being touched and touching someone else are fundamental modes of human interaction, and increasingly, many people are seeking out their own “professional touchers” and body arts teachers. Be they body workers, beauticians. hairdressers, chiropractors, physical therapists of any description, masseuse and even martial artists. We need to be touched – and to touch others. We get by giving. Do not wait to be touched. Start a hugging way of being – at least reaching out – literally. When stressed, touch has a calming effect, more than all the verbal expressions in the world. Let us be that one! The change we would like in our life – be there for others
