Cobalt

Description:

Cobalt is a micronutrient (need hardly any but is vitally important) needed for Vitamin B12 synthesis.

Helps formation of red blood cells; maintenance of nervous system.

Why:

May be missing in strict vegetarians – need more when making another person or when correcting old imbalances.

Solution:

Eat organ meats – as they are rich sources of intrinsic factors to allow B synthesis. Bone broths – organic also should give you enough.

 

If vegan or vegetarian, this may be one more problem to be resolved and why all traditional cultures ate omnivorously.

 

I started out as a health care professional days as a vegan macrobiotic

– and after becoming very ill and trying to stay on track as a vegan whilst pregnant/breastfeeding – I gave up

– so I do understand the angst around some of this problem solving information.
